Nashville, Tenn., — Bluegrass singer songwriter Donna Ulisse will be appearing with her band The Poor Mountain Boys on the Music City Roots Show which will be broadcast live from Loveless Cafe Barn in Nashville, TN on WSM 650AM this Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. CST. Also on the show this week will be Radney Foster, Christabel & The Jons and Emmitt-Nershi Band. Music City Roots, Live From The Loveless Cafe is a weekly, two-hour radio show that revives the historic legacy of live musical production on the legendary WSM-AM. Broadcast on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm, Music City Roots, Live From The Loveless Cafe showcases Nashville’s astonishing music scene, from country and Americana to more progressive interpreters of tradition — a “roots and branches” format that brings together fans of different tastes and generations. Presented live from the stage of the Loveless Barn, this show showcases purveyors of authenticity across many genres.
Each broadcast features 3-4 artists in 30 minute segments that highlight individual artists and also encourage collaboration with a nightly Loveless Jam where emcee and performers alike embrace the spirit of Music City as the collaborative epicenter of tradition and innovation. Eddie Stubbs is the announcer; Jim Lauderdale and other leaders of the music community will host.
This performance will be Ulisse’s last performance of the year as she prepares to enjoy the holidays at home in Nashville and do pre-production with producer Keith Sewell as they complete the challenging process of sifting through her vast catalog of original material to narrow down final choices of songs for her next CD. They begin recording in January of 2010. She is looking forward to working more dates in 2010 by kicking off the year with dates in her home state of Virginia in January.
