Bobby Osborne, Jesse McReynolds set for Bluegrass Underground

Saturday (Dec. 19) will be bluegrass veterans night, when Bluegrass Underground launches its final 2009 show in The Volcano Room at Cumberland Caverns near McMinnville, Tenn.

Bobby Osborne & The Rocky Top X-Press and Jesse McReynolds & The Virginia Boys will perform at 1 p.m. in the room, which is 300 feet below ground.

Both Osborne and McReynolds have been driving forces in bluegrass and classic country for many decades.

“We are excited to be ending another wonderful year of Bluegrass Underground with two of the most iconic patriarchs of bluegrass music: Bobby Osborne and The Rocky Top X-Press and Jesse McReynolds and The Virginia Boys,” said producer Todd Mayo. “This show will surely be a great day underground with two of the most legendary brothers in the family of bluegrass music.”

Bluegrass Underground is taped once a month, and tickets can be purchased at the show’s Web site.

Bluegrass Underground shows can be heard on 650 WSM and online at wsmonline.com each Saturday night from 5-6 pm.
Bluegrass Underground is also aired on Thunder Radio WMSR-AM in Tullahoma, Tenn.each Saturday at 2 pm.
