The Infamous Stringdusters have announced a month long residency at Nashville’s world famous Station Inn. Beginning today, January 6th, with special guest Jim Lauderdale, and continuing each Wednesday through the month of January, The Infamous Stringdusters will give Nashville a plentiful portion of the instrumental wizardry and vocal diversity for which they’ve become known, while debuting new material from their upcoming April 2010 release, Things That Fly. In 2009, The Stringdusters have toured heavily, routinely selling out shows, cultivating the growth of an enthusiastic and adoring fan base.
The historic Station Inn is considered by many to be the world’s epicenter of bluegrass. Nearly every legend of the genre has played within its intimate walls, and the spontaneous musical collaborations that so often take place make it one of music’s most hallowed venues. The Stringdusters shows will continue in this tradition, as each week they’ll be bringing in special guests to join the jam. This evening’s show will feature a guest apperance by Jim Lauderdale in the later half of the evening.
All successful creative endeavors thrive on change, and The Infamous Stringdusters’ development has been no exception. But while many things have changed since The Stringdusters’ inception in 2006, the core elements of their sound have remained the same. Now, the progressive sextet is more focused than ever on exactly what makes them unique: the musical integration of six highly skilled musicians into a visionary group which pushes the boundaries of acoustic music.
We hope that you’ll join us in January to take part in what’s going to be an exciting snapshot of where this band came from and where they’re headed.
