Austin, TX — The four nights of the upcoming and much anticipated Old Settler’s Music Festival, which won an Austin360.com A-List readers poll, promise a bonanza of the acclaimed roots and bluegrass music that has delighted attendees  for 23 years. Old Settler’s Music Festival promises to do so again this year, running from  Tax Day, Thursday, April 15, through Sunday, April 18, 2010.

Award-winning songwriter-producer-recording artist Joe Ely, a veteran of the road and live performance, headlines Friday. Folk-rock singer-songwriter Patty Griffin, whose duet with Dierks Bentley on his song “Beautiful World” has been nominated this year for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals and whose new album, “Downtown Church,” will be released January 26, headlines with her band, including Buddy Miller, on Saturday.

Vanguard Records Americana artist Mindy Smith, award-winning banjo virtuoso and independent record label founder Alison Brown with Joe Craven, Alaskan bluegrass band Bearfoot, 7 Walkers featuring the Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann and Crescent City funk master Papa Mali, The Infamous Stringdusters, Buddy Miller, Fred Eaglesmith, and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver are also among the more than 30 acts that are slated to perform on four stages at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch on FM 1826, in the Texas Hill Country south of Austin.

Old Settler’s Music Festival Ticket Information

Festival-goers can save as much as 30 percent over at-the-gate prices when they order early-bird wristbands by January 31 only at www.oldsettlersmusicfest.org.

Available are 4-day wristbands with campground access (Thursday-Sunday), 3-day wristbands with campground access (Friday-Sunday), 3-day no-camping wristbands and all-inclusive Platinum Passes. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free. Camping access is expected to sell out.

Old Settler’s Music Festival Current Lineup

The lineup for the Festival’s opening day, Thursday, April 15, so far includes Brave Combo, The Infamous Stringdusters and Bearfoot. Friday, April 16: Joe Ely, Blue Highway, Mindy Smith, Alison Brown with Joe Craven, The Infamous Stringdusters and Bearfoot.

Saturday, April 17: Patty Griffin, 7 Walkers featuring Bill Kreutzmann & Papa Mali, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, The Travelin’ McCourys, Fred Eaglesmith, Buddy Miller, Peter Rowan, The Lee Boys, The Band of Heathens, Radney Foster, Solas, The Special Consensus, The Wronglers, Elizabeth Cook, Ruby Jane and Sarah Mueller.

Sunday, April 18: The Gourds, Fred Eaglesmith, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, and The Special Consensus.
