Steve Martin "The Crow: New Songs for the Five String Banjo" (Rounder)

Steve Martin picked up Bluegrass’ biggest award at the Grammy® Awards last night. “The Crow: News Songs For the Five-String Banjo” (Rounder) was named “Best Bluegrass Album.” Martin edged out Rhonda Vincent’sDestination Life,” Jim Lauderdale’sCould We Get Any Closer,” Michael Martin Murphey’sBuckaroo Blue Grass” and Bryan Sutton and friends’ “Almost Live.”

Béla Fleck picked up two Grammy® Awards for “Throw Down Your Heart” (Rounder). It was named “Best Pop Instrumental Performance” and “Best Contemporary World Music Album.”

Loudon Wainwright III picked up the Grammy® for “Best Traditional Folk Album” for “High Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project” while Steve Earle picked up the “Best Contemporary Folk Album” for “Townes” on New West Records.
