“The Bluegrass Diaries” - Jim Lauderdale (Yep Roc) Grammy “Bluegrass Album of the Year”

Nashville, Tenn.Jim Lauderdale was honored at the 50th Annual Grammy® Awards where he received the award for the year’s Best Bluegrass Album for his album “The Bluegrass Diaries.” The win cements Lauderdale’s position as one of American music’s most storied songwriters and artists. “I’m thrilled beyond words. I feel so honored to have been nominated alongside such great artists and to actually win has been one of the best moments of my life. Thank you to everyone who helped make this moment possible.”

Lauderdale was able to thank a few of those people by graciously inviting Yep Roc’s Glenn Dicker, Tor Hansen, Steve Gardner and James Bailey on stage with him to accept the award Sunday night in Los Angeles. Label co-founder Dicker remarked, “We are so proud and happy for Jim. It couldn’t have happened to a more talented and deserving artist. He deserves it and we’re just glad to be able to work with him.” Lauderdale also thanked album producer Randy Kohrs for his support and hard work on the album.

This was Jim’s fourth nomination and his second win, the first coming for his album “Lost in the Lonesome Pines” with Ralph Stanley. The award was Yep Roc Records’ second Grammy nomination (the first, Jim’s 2006 nomination for Bluegrass) and the label’s first win.

Jim will release his next album, “Honey Songs,” on Yep Roc Records February 19th. “Honey Songs” features The Dream Players consisting of music legends James Burton, Glen D. Hardin, Ron Tutt, Al Perkins and Gary Tallent. Jim and The Dream Players will appear on Late Night with Conan O’Brien February 18th.
