On the heels of the release of her new CD, Rhonda Vincent and her band, The Rage, will host the Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamboree at midnight Saturday at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop on Music Valley Drive in Nashville, Tenn.

Admission to the show is free for those in and around the Nashville area. For those of you who can’t be there in person, tune your radio dials to 650 AM WSM or listen online at www.wsmonline.com.

That appearance will follow a show on the televised portion of the Grand Ole Opry that evening. The telecast is shown on cable channel GAC. The Opry shows are also broadcast over XM Satellite Radio and WSMonline.com, or on 650 AM, the Opry’s home for years on the radio dial.

Vincent and the Rage this week released their latest CD, “Good Thing Going,” to rave reviews.

“By now it should be obvious that Rhonda Vincent is simply incapable of making anything but good albums. Even by her own lofty standards, though, Good Thing Going is something special — a fully realized bluegrass beauty in which all the elements of songwriting, musicianship, arrangements, and production are state of the art and really couldn’t be better,”David McGee - Barnes & Noble critic

The CD features five Vincent-penned cuts and duets with IIIrd Tyme Out’s Russell Moore and country singer Keith Urban. Besides the Rage, guest musicians include fiddler Stewart Duncan and premiere acoustic guitarist Bryan Sutton.

Good Thing Going - Rhonda Vincent

Rounder Records currently has 2-part interview with Rhonda Vincent online discussing her forthcoming release “Good Thing Going” on Rounder. The CD is currently scheduled for a release date of January 8th, 2008.

In the interview Rhonda discusses the projects special guests, the original songs, and life on the road with her backing band “The Rage.”

In most everything that we do, we’re always attempting to create something unique. I think having my own studio gives me the freedom to do that. There’s no longer this time constraint, someone saying “You have to finish this up because we have somebody else coming in.” Most of the time, we have the freedom to create. Some of the musicians that were in the studio were saying, “You’re not just here recording tracks, you’re creating something,” which is good to hear! Rhonda Vincent

Darrell Webb fills Williams spot in “The Rage”

Bluegrass musician, songwriter, bandleader, and multi-instrumentalist Rhonda Vincent announced today that Darrell Webb will join her award winning ensemble, The Rage, assuming the position vacated by Josh Williams, who left the band in September of 2007. Webb will be joined by veteran Rage members Hunter Berry (fiddle), Mickey Harris (bass), and Kenny Ingram (banjo), who have each made key contributions to Vincent’s recordings and live performances over the past six years.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Webb is a multi-instrumentalist and steeped in a rich family heritage of bluegrass music, much like Vincent herself, who began performing at age five with her family’s band The Sally Mountain Show. Webb’s professional career started at age 19, when he filled the mandolin position for the Lonesome River Band following the departure of Dan Tyminski to joined Alison Krauss and Union Station. At the age of 21, he joined bluegrass veteran, J. D. Crowe. This is his first full-time job as a guitarist, having previously distinguished himself as a mandolinist and vocalist. “Darrell Webb is a bluegrass marksman,” Vincent explains enthusiastically, “bringing precision and entertainment to a new generation of The Rage. He plays every instrument, is a consummate performer, and had an instant camaraderie with the rest of the guys. - which is important, because we’re together a lot: over 250 days per year!”

The addition of Webb is a crucial development for the Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, as they brace for what promises to be their busiest year ever. January 8th sees the release of her new album Good Thing Going on Rounder Records, which features five new Vincent originals and a host of special guests, including bluegrass legend Jesse McReynolds and acclaimed vocalist Russell Moore. The Rage resume touring following their holiday break beginning January 4, 2008 in Jekyll Island, GA followed by January 5 and 6 in Portland, OR. February 11 through 19 finds Vincent departing on her sold out annual bluegrass cruise, which she hosts.

Rhonda Vincent and The Rage are sponsored by Martha White; the longest continuous running sponsor of The Grand Ole Opry.
