Two Rivers Festival in Mississippi slates lineup

Two Rivers Bluegrass Festival in Leakesville, Miss., has announced the lineup for its April 8-12 music celebration, which will be held at the Green County Rural Events Center.

Performers include the Dailey Vincent Band , Gary Waldrep Band, The Marksmen, The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road, Lost Highway, Frances Mooney & Amp; Fontanna Sunset, Daughters of Bluegrass and Carolina Sonshine.

Special events will include a Wednesday evening church service with an all-gospel concert, a youth night on Tuesday, a band feud, a potluck meal, Ladies’ Morning Out, kids activities, quilting demonstrations and master class workshops on instruments.

A “Hillbilly Contest” starts at 10 a.m. Saturday in the stage area with competitions in singing, dancing and poetry recitals.

Drawings will also be held for a Martin Custom HD-28 guitar and Deering Calico Banjo.

RV hookups and primitive camping are available, and early arrivals are welcome. Dump stations and hot showers are available on site.

Concerts start at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at noon Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tickets are being sold by the day or for the entire festival.
